The Arc of Amador and Calaveras is currently hiring positive, energetic, compassionate individuals. We are recruiting for multiple positions. Wages are competitive. Part–time employees regularly scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week receive paid time off and holiday pay on a prorated basis.
The Arc of Amador and Calaveras has provided support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 45 years. The heart of what we do is support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can better learn, work, live and recreate in the mainstream of life.
The following positions are available:
Full-Time Community Specialist (35hrs. per week): Our Community Specialist team is fun, creative, and dedicated to making a difference every day in the lives of the people we serve. Work as a program instructor at our Community Integration/Adult Development Center to provide support and direct learning experiences that assist people served in achieving their individual goals. Implement training activities at community based sites and other settings. May be required to work some evenings and weekends.
Full-Time Supported Living Specialist (37.5 hrs. per week): Assist people served in various aspects to maintain their optimum living situation. Provide instruction and support to individuals to achieve their goals associated with independent living. Must have the stamina and fitness necessary to work safely while assisting people with personal care needs.
Part-Time Supported Employment Specialist (25 hrs. per week): Place adults with developmental disabilities in jobs at community businesses. Provide training and support services which maximize job retention and success. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Supplemental Community Specialist (Recreation- Calaveras) (Up to 19hrs per week): Assist in the delivery of recreation activities in order to increase opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to partake in meaningful recreation experiences. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Applicants for all positions must be at least 18 years of age; must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid California Drivers License, have a clean driving record; current auto insurance; and must be able to pass regulatory agency health, safety and security clearance requirements.
Experience in the field of intellectual disabilities is desired, however other skills may compensate for experience. Must possess the ability to work cooperatively with other team members; project an amicable, positive and professional attitude; and demonstrate written, verbal, organizational and safety skills. Must have the ability to treat people served with dignity and respect in all situations.
